The North West Award
Pupil Leadership is a key focus of pupil development at North West. We have a range of different opportunities for pupils to be leaders and develop leadership skills. These include:
- Public speaking
- Science committee
- Student council
- Sports teams
- Quiz Club
- Chessed committee
- House Captains
- Newspaper editors
- Prefects
- Buddies
- Giving tours of the school
- North West has Talent competition
Additionally, we have introduced the North West Award for pupils in Years 3-6.
The North West award has four development areas:
- Personal development
- Supporting of others
- Supporting of others in the local community
- Social action project
The award helps to develop key skills, such as:
- Leadership
- Character development
- Growth mindset
- Personal wellbeing
- Motivation
- Communal cohesion
In order to pass each section, children need to complete 30 hours of ‘skills’ and provide some photographic evidence and give feedback on how they have developed over the course of the section.
