Vision

The Ethos and the Aims of our School have evolved and strengthened during over 50 years of existence, building on the firm foundations established by the founding fathers of our School. They can be stated as being to provide a rounded Secular and Orthodox Jewish education, based on the National Curriculum and Orthodox Jewish sources.  We aim to achieve the highest possible academic standards and the development of a highly ethical and behavioural framework within which each child may grow.

We aim to promote good self discipline and give regard to the needs of all children regardless of age, ability, gender or social class. We try to create an awareness in the children of their responsibilities to one another and to their teachers within the School, as well as to the wider Community outside.  We aim to foster good relationships with Parents, Governors and the Community at large.  We very much believe in the ‘Home/School Partnership’, and work very closely with our Parents in order that each and every child should be encouraged to achieve their true potential within a caring, Jewish environment.  There is an emphasis on self-expression, both written and spoken; on numerical ability; and on a broader understanding of our particular heritage.  Our aim within this context is to develop the ‘rounded’ child, not only academically, but also culturally and socially. We recognise that there are special needs at both ends of the spectrum, and we aim to satisfy and provide for them, whilst not neglecting the so-called ‘average’ child.  The National Curriculum is regarded as the starting point, and we certainly fulfil all of its requirements, whilst at the same time continuing to maintain the high standards achieved prior to its advent.

At every possible opportunity, we aim to integrate the Secular with the Non-Secular. This is because we believe that our School is not just a School for Jewish children, but rather, a Jewish School, with a modern, orthodox Zionist ethos, which pervades all of our multifarious activities.
