North West London Jewish Day School is a Voluntary Aided School. It was founded in 1945 by a number of Rabbanim and people active within the Jewish community in Cricklewood. A Trust was set up to provide an orthodox Jewish education for boys and girls of primary school age.

We aim to achieve the highest academic standards and the development of a highly ethical framework within which each child may grow. The Ethos and the Aims of our school have evolved and strengthened over the 50 years of our existence. The founding fathers established a firm foundation to provide a rounded Secular and Orthodox Jewish education, based on the National Curriculum and Orthodox Jewish sources.

We aim to help each child achieve his or her full potential in a caring Jewish environment. There is an emphasis on self-expression, both written and spoken, on numerical ability and on a broader understanding of our particular heritage.

We recognise that there are special needs at both ends of the spectrum, and we aim to satisfy and provide for them, whilst not neglecting the so-called “average” child.

We aim to promote good self discipline and give rewards to then needs of all children regardless of age, ability, gender or social class. We create an awareness in the children of their responsibilities to one another and to their teachers within the school, as well as to the wider community outside. Our aim in this context is to develop the “rounded” child, not only academically, but also culturally and socially.

We aim to foster a good relationship with Parents, Governors and the Community at a large. We very much believe in ‘Home/School Partnership’, and work very closely with our parents.
